Saint Padre Pio (born Francesco Forgione; 1887–1968) was an Italian Capuchin friar, priest, and mystic. He is one of the most venerated figures in the Catholic Church, famously known for bearing the stigmata—the bleeding wounds of Jesus’ crucifixion—on his hands, feet, and side for 50 years.
